Tom Midrano and Howie Schechter started Chez José Mexican Cafe on SW Terwilliger in 1987; three years later, Chez José East opened it’s doors.

Arisen from the ashes a year after it burned down in 2001, Chez José West is sans bar but offers a wide selection of margaritas and full-bar drinks, as well as beer and wine. Its colorful, welcoming décor, excellent fare and dedicated staff keep long-time customers coming back.

Just blocks away from the Lloyd Center area, Chez José East is a favorite for many, including families and large groups. This award-winning restaurant touts a full-service bar including top-shelf margaritas and specialty drinks, happy hour every day, and a non-smoking environment to enjoy both traditional and eclectic entrees. Kids under 7 eat free every night from 5-7 PM (Chez José East only).
